Perspective

As I crashed onto my bed Friday about 5:30PM, I knew that something had to be wrong with me. I haven't been this sick in A LONG time. As I have been in bed the last 2 and 1/2 days I have done some thinking...mostly sleeping, but also some thinking. When I woke up Saturday morning, all I could think about was how miserable I felt and that now I wouldn't be able to get all the things done that I needed to. Then, I was laying in bed watching conference, and suddenly my perspective changed. I suddenly saw the glass "half full" thinking of how blessed I was to be able to watch, listen, and learn from the leaders of our church. It was so inspiring to me, and even though nothing got done...I am so grateful that I could rest and that I am starting to feel better. Things could have been much worse, or happened at a different time. Even though this isn't a huge thing, it made me think of the trials in my life that have made me stronger.

The best rose-bush, after all, is not that which has the fewest thorns, but that which bears the finest roses. ~Henry Van Dyke

Thank goodness for trials and the opportunities that we have to see the glass "half full."
