Sunrise

Recently I have really been thinking about perspective and how it affects our lives. It's funny how a sunrise can change the way you were thinking.

That's What's Behind The Door (Classroom Update)

I went behind the wooden door to look at what was really going on behind there. Above is what I saw in the hallway. As I walked down to my classroom door I thought about how different things look with different lighting (or in this case no lighting but the sun!) It made me think about the different views and perspectives that we have and how things sometimes change as time goes on.

Even though I had seen it a few days before, my classroom still shocks me. It is still the same room, yet completely different without carpet and a ceiling. (All of the items being removed probably helps too.)

I hope that it gets finished in time! :)

Cleaning

"I am thankful for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home...." ~Nancie J. Carmody

Today I spent most of the day cleaning. I found that as I cleaned it pulled me into cleaning more. It was very rejuvenating, and as I finished it gave me a sense of great accomplishment. I also felt they other side of cleaning where it made me think about why I was doing this when it was just going to get dirty again, why it took so long, and that some things just get gross! I have just decided that cleaning has many sides to it, and it is all how you look at it...I guess like most things in life.

Perspective

As I crashed onto my bed Friday about 5:30PM, I knew that something had to be wrong with me. I haven't been this sick in A LONG time. As I have been in bed the last 2 and 1/2 days I have done some thinking...mostly sleeping, but also some thinking. When I woke up Saturday morning, all I could think about was how miserable I felt and that now I wouldn't be able to get all the things done that I needed to. Then, I was laying in bed watching conference, and suddenly my perspective changed. I suddenly saw the glass "half full" thinking of how blessed I was to be able to watch, listen, and learn from the leaders of our church. It was so inspiring to me, and even though nothing got done...I am so grateful that I could rest and that I am starting to feel better. Things could have been much worse, or happened at a different time. Even though this isn't a huge thing, it made me think of the trials in my life that have made me stronger.

The best rose-bush, after all, is not that which has the fewest thorns, but that which bears the finest roses. ~Henry Van Dyke

Thank goodness for trials and the opportunities that we have to see the glass "half full."
